Our Sustainability Policy

Our Sustainability Policy

At Meet Sleep Cycle, we believe that a sincere and relentless commitment to sustainability will be a key part of our future success as a business. We recognise that the sustainability challenge for our industry looks daunting, but we believe firmly that the most successful businesses will be those who are committed to strong and consistent action.

We seek to be sustainability leaders within the events industry and welcome the opportunity to demonstrate how meetings and events can be a vehicle for positive environmental and social impact. Sustainability must therefore be at the core of everything we do, from the design and delivery of our events to the suppliers we work with and the legacy we leave behind in each destination.

This Sustainability Policy outlines our commitment to operating sustainability, reducing the environmental impact of our events and supporting the communities in which we work. It also describes our approach to leading our colleagues across the events industry in the right direction, building a more sustainable future for us all.

Transparency

We are committed to the highest standards of transparency, which we demonstrate by:

Environmental Responsibility

To minimise our environmental impact, we incorporate sustainable principles into the design of our events from the very beginning. We consider the impact of each element of an event’s design and delivery, incorporating sustainability as a key criterion in each major decision.

In practice, this approach means that:

Emissions Reduction

Waste Reduction and Circular Practices

Social Impact

To maximise the local economic and social benefits of our events, we work hard to build collaborative relationships with local businesses, producers and communities. We are committed to leaving a legacy of sustainability and positive impact on every destination in which we work.

Fair Labour Practices

Industry Leadership

We strive to be sustainability leaders within the events industry, demonstrating that more sustainable events are not only possible but more effective at creating meaningful experiences.

We will talk openly and frankly about the challenges and what we are doing to address them, contributing actively to industry forums and challenging our suppliers and attendees to do more. In particular, we champion three key elements:

i. Connecting buyers and suppliers whose businesses are already invested in sustainable events practice, helping to increase focus on objective decarbonisation of in-person business events. We also help those teams & organisers who recognise the need to shift towards Net Zero through targeted, measurable carbon budgeting.

ii. Show business event organisers how to incorporate more healthy, active, low-carbon experiences within their own businesses for long-term Employee Wellbeing, as well as in b2b events design, for delegate connectivity that builds human, environmental and all-species impact, through practical delivery solutions. We aim to help the international events sector turn ‘Net Zero’ into ‘Net Positive’.

iii. Education for systemic, fully-responsible destination & venue-selection that shifts away from bodies with the largest marketing budgets/profiles (but without any serious Net Zero interests or investments), towards locations and venues with most environmental and social impact.

Governance and Accountability

Responsibility for implementing this Sustainability Policy lies with senior management and all Meet Sleep Cycle team members. Failure to integrate environmental and social considerations into all elements strategic planning, decision-making and business operations will be considered a breach of this Policy.

The Policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as required.
